I wasn't sure what I expected when I came across saint bread but I'm pleasantly surprised! There's also outdoor seating which makes it convenient to work and snack. The kimchi fries were so yummy and unlike anything I've tried before! I appreciate how my dish was made fresh despite the rush! I also got a matcha, which I added additional sweetener to which is conveniently located on the bar. I can't wait to come back and try more dishes!
Saint Bread lives up to the name - their bread is indeed heavenly. I ordered the ham and cheese sandwich, in which the bread was definitely the shining star. To my disappointment, there was rather little filling in the sandwich and the wasabi aioli wasn't to my taste, so the bread did much of the heavy lifting. The Dobutsu style fries and cheeseburger are a different story - both are delicious and I would order again! Think of In-n-Out animal-style fries with a Japanese twist. My only complaint is that the caramelized onions, mayo-based sauce, and cheese atop the fries were rather heavy (and slightly overkill) and the acidity of the seasoning wasn't quite enough to cut through the fattiness. The cheeseburger, however, is a 10/10! Prepare to wait in line if you come here. This is a popular spot, but I did not have an issue with finding seating or parking. The seating situation is a covered outdoor patio, which is nice given that it is right next to the waterfront. The ambiance is pretty chill and I would recommend going on a sunny day.
A stone's throw away from UW medical campus. Came here by myself on a Monday for an early lunch, and there was already a decent line. There is heated outdoor seating, which I imagine pops off in the summer. I got the okonomiyaki style pancake, which actually is a thin fried pancake atop a thick omelet situation. Decently sized, too. It was hard to choose from all the creative ingredient lists, so I'll have to come back with a friend and split some of the other plates!
I have been meaning to check our their famous Saint Cheeseburger and their general great vibe for a while. My food expert coworker has been raving about their burger for months and I have been waiting for a chance. I was super excited to finally try their food! There is a pretty big marina parking lot right next to Saint Bread for customers of various businesses adjacent to the marina. Parking rate was reasonable at $2 an hour. The line was not that long at noon when we got there. We ordered the regular cheeseburger and one with extra patty, along with some fries and a cup of cappuccino. We then found an open table in the back. This place is a bus-your-own-table kind of place. We got our drink from the counter and a few minutes later, someone brought our food to our table. My "double" burger was fantastic. The burger was juicy, full of flavor, and pretty amazing. My wife's regular burger, was a different story. The burger patty was all dry and burnt like a thin slice of well-cooked bacon. We almost went back to the counter to complain but the line was so long and we didn't want to make a scene. It was a pretty terrible burger. It was such a disappointingly mixed experience. But my double burger was awesome. Just a few more things: extra patty on menu was $3 but actual charge was $4. Also, call me old fashioned but I am not a super fan of pre-tipping at a bus-your-own-table places. Also, the lowest tip started at 18%, which seemed high to me for a self-service restaurant. But that's just me. All in all, I am going to go back for their burger and would love to try their pastries as well.
First time reviewing Saint Bread, but this business has been a staple for me! They are a perfect location if you're looking for a fun selection of delicious pastries and a coffee. On weekends the line can get long, but it's always worth it. It's par for the course. I went on a Thursday morning and walked right in, but as I sat on the patio enjoying my treats, I saw the line had begun. They have covered outdoor seating that has bench tables as well as a few overhead heaters. They always have a great revolving selection of pastries while also sticking to some staples. I like the yuzu polenta cake. It's nice and hearty with good texture with just the right amount of sweetness! They serve Proud Mary coffee which makes for a fantastic cup. You really cannot go wrong with what you order here! You'll want to come back for more :)
Came saturday afternoon and from waiting in line to ordering to receiving our food was about an hour in total. Unfortunately by the time we got there, all the pastries except the cookies were sold out! At least the chocolate chip cookie was solid .. Smoked ham and cheese was pretty good with the wasabi mayo. Saint cheeseburger was actually a bit underwhelming! Thought there'd be more to it. Their lattes are good, I like the espresso. They're pretty light on the syrups though as I couldn't really taste the miso caramel in my latte (although I do appreciate it more over an overly sweetened drink) Cant say for sure if it's worth the hype since a lot of the pastries theyre known for were out so I guess I'll just have to try coming again
Met a friend for lunch, and he recommended this place. Met a couple people in line that highly recommended the burger. I was quite tempted. But then I saw it... I saw the special sign! I ordered the Char siu I am such a fan of barbecue pork. The bread was soft and delicious and the sauces were amazing. The pork itself was also very good. But I think I was satiating over the idea of a nice slab of fatty tasty pork belly. It was more chopped up, but it was still very del They also had a really nice selection of bakery items. We sat out on the deck. Not much of a view here but it's still had a nice community vibe.
